Darrell....last night sucked

The storms did some serious damage in raleigh. 1 tonado went down the other side of Lana's sons street. Blew out windows in one house and left two trees in two home. In roseboro there is a house sitting in the middle of the road. An oil company, owned and operated for 40 years in gone. I understand tey are in their 70's. We have no power and the emrgency phone call came in 3 times already saying it would be 3 daqys before Progress energy could fix. The entire grid was out.

fourtunately we are sitting in a hotel in Wilmington while power is retored.

btw...I hate typing on a laptop.....but if that is my only bitch then i got it made

I never got my hamburger....I thin a steak is in order for tonight

Tornados are a blast - no pun intended.
I've been through 7 or 8 of them. It's the ultimate adrenaline rush.
Lightening is another matter. My first near hit was about 3' from me.
That stuff just scares me to death anymore.

just say "last night sucked"

If you are trying to come out and tell me something, do so. I understand how crappy it is for y'all right now. But I am not going to lose my humor because of a terrible storm, and I have had my share of them here in Florida so I know how you feel. Hang in there!

...

It just appeared to me you were unhappy with me joking about the video that was posted because it was related to the events created by the storm. That is how I took your post being that you singled me out by name the way you did.

It was pandelirium!

Just like how they always find the lady to interview in the trailer park right after the tornado, you know the one wearing the muu-muu and the pink sponge rollers in her hair, saying "It was PANDELIRIUM! I thought we was gonna be killed, or even worse, and all I could think was Caroline still has my casserole dish!"

My wife is terrified of tornadoes. I prefer to assume that they won't actually hit wherever I happen to be as the odds are against it. This makes for some tension over her insisting we have a storm shelter and me pointing out that we spend two-thirds of our time elsewhere.

Hurricanes and earthquakes can impact huge areas. The actual damage area from a single tornado is usually very small in comparison. One can go dead center through my neighbors' homes and do little damage to mine. Straight-line, high-speed winds are more likely to topple a tree in my direction several times each year than having one tornado in 50 years.

I concur with your wife. I've seen one tornado when we had a rare one in Tucson, Arizona. I told Wendell "That sure looks like a funny cloud! I'm taking a picture." Turns out it was a black funnel cloud that made the local news.

The two "T"'s scare the carp out of me!!! :-O (Tornadoes and Tidal Waves)

Quakes never really bothered me too much. I guess cause I grew up with them shaking when they wanted to shake. But I prefer to never experience one ever again if possible. 🙂

I was caught outside once to see a home destroyer of a tornado pass by within a quarter mile of me, that was plenty close enough, enough adrenaline for a lifetime.

We had one Saturday night in Gloucester, VA that left a swath 1 mile wide and 7.5 miles long. It damage a substation to the Surrey Nuclear Power Plant and shut down the reactors, damaged the middle school and many of the buses in the transportation yard.

That particular tornado missed my house by about 2 blocks. Wonder if I go look if his burger will be in my back yard.
Parts of Clinton are still without power. Lots of big, old trees still down. I haven't seen so many blue tarps since Katrina.
