I know some of you guys out there are also avid gardeners so...Here's today's "bounty".

I grew some Walla Walla Sweet Onions for Wendell (his favorite) and finally my strawberries & blueberries are ripe for the picking!

Coming soon: Blackberries, Grapes, Tomatoes, Zucchini & Cucumbers.
If you guys were here I'd share it all with you. 🙂

Walla Walla Sweet Onions. Even the weaklings like me can eat these!

Sweet strawberries & blueberries. Wendell is going to make blueberry scones.

Well, that all looks lovely, Angel, but try to save some strawberries to add to the rhubarb pie, okay? :>

I'll take some GA Vidalia onions anytime!!
I cook them on the grill or bake them like a tater.
Throw down some silver-queen corn on the cob and I'm in hog-heaven.

My favorite time of year hear in Central Florida is May. Thats when the Zellwood corn comes in. Silver queen and bi-color. Just pop a couple in the microwave, husk and all, cook on high for 3 minutes then peel and eat! No salt or butter needed. M-mmm!

Angel, those are some fine looking fruits/veggies.

That reminds me. It's time to start locking the vehicle while parked. Otherwise, you come back and someone has left you some extra zucchini or big cucumbers or the sweet corn they didn't get sold in three days or two gallons of tomatoes or..........

I want some of that corn!!! YUM!!

Why thank you. 🙂 That was just the start. Got tons more berries getting ready for picking.

Wendell wanted to grow corn this year. He did all of his research, got the seeds, surveyed and mapped out his "area", and then...he got too busy. So...we'll try next year.

Cow, it sounds like you have caring people there. They do the same thing here. My neighbors and I trade bounty all the time. I try to grow stuff no one else is growing so we all have a diversity.

The world is coming to an end - maybe

Unless Noodles has been up all night, the world according to Wendell must be coming to an end because Noodles is not only posting before Noon PDT, it is long before Noon. :}:

If 10 or so people coordinated their gardens, each could plant just 2 items and all would be supplied with all the regulars and a number of special fruits and veggies with enough for a big community canning session in the fall. Talk about efficient. Even suburb neighbors could each lay out 10x10 or 15x20 and all would share in the wealth. One greenhouse for starts in Feb/March, one tiller for all to use in the spring, one big load of compost for all to share and on and on.

My blueberries came and went about a month ago. Had a good crop for me and friends and the birds and deer enjoyed the leftovers!

Snitch!! He outed me.

Yea, the rats and I usually cover the night shift. Wendell & the dog gets the day shift. When I see my neighbors up I know it's my bedtime. 🙂

Yesterdays Bounty...Turned into Smoothies (Pic)

Here's yesterdays berries...turned into smoothies for the hub and I. I added some ice cubes, yogurt, milk, OJ, little sugar and a few more frozen strawberries to balance it all out.

DAMN these were good!!
