I really enjoy visiting this site whenever I have a minute of free time. I really enjoy reading the different threads. (Ring, ring is always a good one.) This site keeps me interested in surveying, even when I am stuck doing the same thing day after day (topo in a nasty swamp). This site (The people) are the reason I pull out my old textbooks and workbooks and work some math problems when I get home. You guys make people think. This website is why I love surveying. This place keeps surveying fresh. It keeps surveying interesting. I am so happy I found this place.
Irwin.
I'm glad you like the place. It does have a nice feel since Wendell painted and put up some new pictures and posters on the wall. And the beer is always cold and the music on the jukebox is classic. I would suggest you stay away from that table in the corner under the Texas flag until you've either (a) honed your knife well for discussions, or (b) wear waders anytime you venture near there. 😉
It is a rather amazing place, isn't it. It takes a lot of people to keep it that way. Thanks for adding to that number.

Now, that wouldn't be any fun at all, would it?
Well, Wendell has done a good job of making a fine watering hole, for land surveyors.
(He's a land surveyor too, and I'll bet that has helped)
And, he does take donations from those who benefit from this site. I send a bit every month.
I benefit from this site.

No matter what, this place never recommends cutting corners, lowballing, or going cheap!

RE: donations. See my signature line below.
Brad,
I looked for your "signature line".

It's sad we had to move our table to the corner, but one bad apple can spoil the bunch. 🙂

You know the saying , "A good horse is never a bad color."
The amount of information exchanged here is staggering. The variety of backgrounds and personalities means there is always something for every learning style. It's like 'Cheers' for Surveyors, except no hangover...

Some of the threads have driven me to drink
Of course we had to move our table to the corner, how else can we not have our back exposed to the door?

Yeah but one of the horses needs to go to the glue factory. 🙂

This seems like a good spot for @paden cash to insert a HorsesAss remark

You're right, this WOULD be a reasonable place to drop in a remark about the north end of a southbound mule....;)
Why are there more horses behinds, than horses?
Because some horses behinds, failed to get connected to a nice animal.
🙂
