@noodles

For a real treat, check him out in The Sailor Who Fell From Grace With The Sea.  Personally, I preferred his co-star. 😯 😉

@loyal

There are some days when I am in one of those melancholy moods where I could listen to Sunday Morning Coming Down all day and then other days when it is all day ACDC or The Rolling Stones with some Nuge thrown in for good measure. The Nuge can sure play a guitar.

@andy-bruner

I thought Jerry Jeff Walker grew up in "upstate" New York.  Oneonta

My MIL went to high school with him.

@holy-cow

That movie had an entire chapter of its own in the July of 1976 issue of Playboy Magazine.

@bob-freeman He may have.  I first came across him in Texas in the middle 1970s.  I just assumed that was where he was from.  The '70s were a great time for music in Texas.  Waylon, Willie, Jerry Jeff, Townes Van Zandt, Kinky Friedman, et.al.  And I remember most of it. (grin)

@andy-bruner

i don't recall the exact details, but jerry jeff got ray benson (asleep at the wheel) to come to austin or the other way around.?ÿ and yeah, they were both from NY.?ÿ that woulda been a wild time to be here.?ÿ all the above mentioned plus jimmy buffet was here then, steve fromholz, rusty weir, michael martin murphy (he's still around), blaze, uncle walt's band (david ball is still going at it), bunch more i'm not remembering.

the outlaws album was on at our house a bunch when i was little.?ÿ and i have a specific memory around redneck mother than involves dad, a couple of his mechanics, a BUNCH of beer, and what i now recognize as a complete lack of recognition of the sarcasm of that song.
