Lawrence Paul Lopresti and Arlene are the proud new grandparents.

Son Jonathan Paul LoPresti and wife Nicole were blessed today with Nathan Paul Lopresti/LoPresti at 7 lb. 14 oz. and 21".

He has not yet expressed how he will spell his last name. My brothers and sisters spell it the way our father did, but half of the grandsons went back to the Italian spelling.

Nathan Paul joins his 2 month older cousin Elijah at the beginning of another bumper crop of greatgrandchildren for my mother. Three more are anticipated soon, two would be the first set of twins in 5 generations. Six years ago there was also a group of 5 greatgrandkids within 12 months.

Big question is will the new mother be at our home for turkey. 20 is our target number, but we can seat more.

Congratulations to the family.

If they want to go with the Italian version of LoPresti, then they should also go with Paolo instead of Paul.

Congratulations Paul! I am also happy for you that the latest version is in the same state. Alas and alack, our one and only newly minted grandaughter is 10 hours away in Orlando. I saw her the day she was born and the day after but not since.

What Is Really Great Is

Our daughter lives 6 blocks away and our son 6 miles. Grandaughter # 1 and grandson # 1 were here when I got home from work and I will see them again at a church covered dish tonight. On the other side getaway day from the hospital is not yet set. Grandaughter # 3 is here a little less often, but since Nana's house is close to the route home from daycare to home it often gets added for on demand potty breaks. From our bathroom back to the front door usually takes her 15 minutes as she inventories all the toys, just in case someone else borrowed her favorites.

Being able to easily get everyone together is one of life's greatest pleasures.
