THE SHREDDER
I used to be the boss's right hand man. As I was leaving the office one afternoon at about 5:45, I found my boss, the CEO of our company, standing impatiently in front of the shredder by his secretary?s desk, nervously fidgeting with a document in his hand. "Listen," he said, "This is a crucially important item, and my secretary has already gone, can you make this thing work?"
"Certainly!" I said as I leaned over and hit the switch on the back of the machine, took the document from him, inserted it into the shredder tray, and pressed the start button. "Excellent, excellent!" exclaimed my boss as the shredder whirred, and his document disappeared into the machine, "I only need one copy."
Right up until then, it had been a pretty good job?
