It's always tough when a couple estranged hockey geeks get their respective teams served up a clinic by some other team they should have soundly dominated. It was not to be. Sadly.

As in St Louis, where my Red Wings got their dinner served up in the form of an inability to forecheck, score on 7 power plays, and pretty much not make those sacred cross ice passes they are so famous for. Kudos to all those St Louis Blues fans for handing the Wings a very solid 2-1 thumping on home ice.

Meanwhile back in Dallas, on the other TV, with considerable amounts of channel clicking on my big screen, I was rooting for Mr Roadhands Dallas Stars. I think I saw him in Sec 103, Row C, Seats 3 & 4 (not that I'm a stalker or anything :-P) , or at least SWMBO in the MORROW jersey, but the camera angles never were quite there. I should note that I was on the DallasFoxSports feed via my Center Ice. Same as I get for my Wings.

And I will not offer kudos to FL Panthers fans, because I think they should move to Canada.

But the bottom line is that .....

...I'll let Roadie fill in that blank

Therefore, I have changed my avatar to the best team winning. Mr Roadhand should do as well, because our little joke obviously did not pan out well. I still think a Stars v Wings West Final is what it will be, but....

Game On!!

Sometimes its just not your night. Your Dallas Stars had one of those last night. Couldnt move the puck out of their own zone, coupled with poor officiating, and a pretty fast, well playing Panther team it was obvious it was going to be a loooooong night. On the bright side, any time I go I enjoy myself, win or lose plus we scored a couple of Bobbleheads to boot.

I concur. Tough to watch those games, but still gotta support them and have fun in the process.

It's not a bobblehead, but I did attend the very first game at the new arena in Glendale for the Coyotes (2004). I just moved to AZ and bought a 5 game ticket deal, which included a Wings game. I forget who the Coyotes played that first game, but they won, and the first 10,000 fans got one of these. I display the 5" replica on my bookshelf all during hockey season, just because I can.
