hits close to home- it has been reported that the daughter of Steve and Lois Schultz, both RPLS's, and owner's of the Schultz Group in New Braunfels, Texas, and their daughters children, are among the missing after the devastating flooding in Wimberley.
just talked to Steve and Lois just a few weeks ago. Really sad.
From the Chamber of Commerce news letter:
Prayers Sought For Flood Victims
Our neighbor to the north, Hays County, is seeking assistance following the flood over the Memorial Day weekend. The community of Wimberley and City of San Marcos received the brunt of the damage. Volunteer groups interested in helping can email Hayscoflood@co.hays.tx.us. Many New Braunfelsers can identify with the situation in the affected areas, with the floods of 1972, 1998, 2002 and 2010.
As of press time, twelve remained missing. Among the missing is the daughter and two grandchildren of Steve and Lois Schultz of the Schultz Group. Steve is a Blue Coat and former Chamber board member. Steve and Lois are asking for prayers at this time.
The National Guard is dispatching forces to assist in the search. The Comal River was closed for much of the first holiday weekend of the summer season due to high water and debris.
They're all in our prayers. Let's go for broke and pray for something along the lines of a miracle.
My grandfather's place was on the Trinity River off of NW Highway near (in) Dallas. As a boy I've seen the Trinity rise so quick you almost wouldn't believe it. Whatever the river wants, the river gets.
In the canyons of N. Mexico I've seen arroyos fill and roar away with cars and trucks in seconds. Five minutes later you'd be hard pressed to tell there had ever been any water there.
Mother Nature is omnipotent and not very forgiving. Everyone be careful in the monsoons.
