We got hammered yesterday and it is still raining. Creeks are raging and Rivers
are flooding, but stock tanks are filling up and hay fields will start growing again.
Some spots got 16 inches.
Actually, its kinda nice to have a break from our normal 100 degree days.:-)
But, the downside is that a few people will die from trying to cross a creek when they should just turn around.:-(
Randy
I was wondering how you were fairing down there.
It's now here in Lawton and has been raining for 3 or so hours non-stop. We are only supposed to get about 5" but that will still necessitate several vehicle rescues from people that ignore the high water signs that the street department puts out at all the known locations.
People need to realize that flash floods kill many more people than tornadoes or any other storms in Oklahoma.
My Mom lives in Georgetown...she said they got 6 1/2 inches,...
I saw the radar with that low moving North through Tx. It looked like a tight system.
Did it stall?
A little over 8 years ago, we were in the Tx Hill Country when a big deluge occurred. A lot of the roads were impassable. We headed into Austin and ended up eating some ribs with Kent.
Send some to GA. We could use it. Not all of it of course.
Randy,
this was taken about 7:00 this morning out in the Marion area between San Antonio and Seguin. This low water crossing was 5' deep. The car in the middly of it thought otherwise!!
