Has anybody encountered waiting lines in courthouse because of the Oil and Gas boom. Ive been to three in the past month in this area and have been told to wait in line(a long line I may add)for your turn at a computer terminal, or, only so many allowed in the recorders office at one time? Used to be, maybe five or six people in the recorders office, search at your leisure, come and go as you please. Those days are LONG GONE. "Please write down on this form all the copies you need. But you may have to come back and pick them up" Valuable quasi public data is now no longer accessible. What used to take 1/2 hour now takes a day, no cell phones allowed, no pictures allowed, no HP Capshares, etc. I decided to write a few short descriptions longhand in my tablet for fear of not getting anything and was just WAITING for someone to tell me that I wasn't allowed to do that. Some counties are ahead of their time, and have most of their data on-line. But it seems that you still have to go to the courthouse for something. I used to enjoy researching property but it's getting close to the end. I think I might try a job at Home Depot.
Well, you know what comes after a boom...
Where are you located? Oil and Gas Boom was here (Central PA) a few years back but I wouldn't think it's as big now with all the rules and regulations going on. Now don't hate on these 'gas---holes' as we called them, I used to layout a lot of pads for construction for them. But, like all good things, jobs died out and had to move on to another area of work.
Some folks are enjoying the crowd
Mainly the elderly couple that owns the diner across the street from the Courthouse. And they are about the only ones.
