"Costco" is an American retailer in which you pay a yearly fee for the privilege of purchasing 5 gallon jars of mustard and 50lb sacks of flour.

Similar to Sam's Club.

Haven't heard back from him yet. Send out a search party?

I can't see paying money just for the privilege of entering the store. If a store wants to do business with me then they can let me in for free.

I wouldn't mind the fee so much if there was a good ol boys club at the back end for the guys to hang while the women shopped...even a duds n' suds for balance...do the laundry, shoot some pool, drink some beers....

I hung out for about 20 minutes and headed over- the parking lot was packed and so were the check out lines when I went in- picked up my stuff- visited with a friend for about 10 minutes and was able to get right up to the register.

Better than I had hope- lines drive me crazy anymore.

Roger that Dave. However Taso took me there every Friday when I worked for him. I would load up on ribeyes (half the price at the near by grocery), tons of beer and a carton of smokes.

The price of admission for a year is paid for on your very first grocery trip. I've bought my last two computers there also and not only are the prices lower than anywhere else for a comparable model, Costco doubles the manufacturer's warranty. That right there is worth the price of admission.

Plus, if you get the business account for $100 per year, you get 2% cash back on your purchases. Ok, that doesn't amount to too much, but our check is usually right close to $100, making the year's admission free. I know, it seems silly for it to come back around that way, but hey, shopping at Costco is awesome. And I don't like shopping.

And the "Scooby snacks" are awesome, too. 🙂

COSTCO - It's a rare place indeed!

It's one of the few places I can get Wendell to go shopping with me at!!

AND...I don't feel rushed to get out of there! I can look down each aisle in peace and munch on the samples. 🙂

I save the yearly membership costs in gasoline savings alone, their customer-only station is about 10 cents a gallon less than the closest Shell or Chevron stations.

About those 5 gallon jars of mustard - yeah, that kind of bulk buying doesn't help a lot of us, but 8 cans of Progresso soup for around $10.00 - that makes sense. I'm sure we save hundreds of dollars there every year, and, like Angel, we like the free buffet...
