I don't write down any numbers. I usually find the answer by a sort of logic. It does get a bit hairy at times. I don't know if I exactly followed all of your written down techniques, but I probably follow the same general ideas.
The only thing I can think of that you may not have mentioned, is that I might find a couple of possible areas for a particular number from looking in a square by the "triple-column" it's in, then be able to narrow it down by the "triple-row" it's in.....if that makes sense.
