That is funny but oddly based in truth.
Robert Masters many decades ago in his book Varieties if Psychedelic Experiences explained experiments with LSD and caffeine he performed on spiders.
He found the tripping spiders to build elaborately designed mandala-like webs and the caffeine spiders to be frenetic and a complete of no organization.

I think he overdosed the spiders.

When I was in college, the school library had a book that discussed that experiment, and contained a bunch of pictures of the webs. It was pretty interesting.

That experiment couldn't legally be done in the US these days, though. Some of the drugs he used are now strictly controlled, and the government doesn't give approval for them to be used in experiments like that. So a whole potential arena of biochemical research has been essentially at a stand-still for the last 45 years.

I read it in the 60's. required reading in a psyc
Master was treating severe alcoholics with LSD therapy.
It was about the same time that Leary/Alpert(Baba Ram Das)(sp?) were doing their Harvard research. I think this is when they became acquainted with Aldous Huxley also. I believe Sandoz made the LSD in North Jersey in East Paterson.

and also the Army/CIA were conducting LSD experiments and fun and games also.

also about the same time that Ken Kesey was a ' human lab rat' for LSD tests at Stanford..

I think the co-author of the Master's book was the woman that Hillary was channeling Eleanor Roosevelt with in the WH.

In Google Earth, there is a picture of the bus "Further" rusting away at Kesey's place in Oregon.
