on a bathroom remodel. I will say it again - the guys who do that day in and day out for a living really earn their money.
I like doing little projects (well not so much the doing as the finishing and being satisfied with what I did) like this. But there is no way I would be able to do tiling every day. I am so sore in places that I did not know even existed - and I still need to grout this evening.
My wife and I put tile in the kitchen of our old house. It took us a weekend, looked pretty good, and we didn't kill each other or get divorced.
Years ago my wife and I wallpapered the kitchen. Needless to say, we didn't do wallpapering together again. I've kept her around for 40+ years so I guess she's OK. (don't ever tell her I said that)+o(
agreed.. I've done three rooms of wood floors. easy click together stuff, they said. BS. between up and down for measuring and cutting, then pounding on the boards and your hands all day trying to get them together.. or apart... i can't move for a day or so after the project. brutal!!
Good on you Jon. Doing things like that are very satisfying in the end. I am rebuilding an old farmhouse and throughout the life of the project thus far have been sore, bruised, battered, and tired in all new ways. I am still undaunted by the sheer scope of the project, probably because I just don't know any better but am very excited by every step that gets completed. Part of the new structure will be held up by cedar poles that I cut, trimmed, dragged or carried, and fitted myself. You can't buy that kind of satisfaction.
A good pair of these are life savers...........

Congrats on undertaking a job like that!
I have done all tasks in home rehab and construction... except wall to wall carpet. Even built a house from the ground up.
At 62.8 years I am getting a little smarter and My list of "let someone else to it" now includes:
Concrete
Sheet Rock
Floors
I still enjoy the rest immensely.
