Good observation Beer! This is a reservoir and it is currently overflowing exactly where you noticed. Below are a few pics of the backside of the "spillway", it is (obviously) pretty popular ( it was also 95° at this location today).



Still, it was the submarine that was a bit unexpected.

I'm not sure how "Beer" figured that out unless he has been out here before, but he is exactly correct! Here is a view of the upper end of the spillway (just left or southwest of the originally posted pics. I never envisioned Gunlock Reservoir to be a large nor deep enough body of H2o, that I at least, would expect to see a submersible craft in!
