And don't name the kid and then decide to call them by the middle name.?ÿ Never convenient, it has become less so in the age of computerized everything.?ÿ

When my brother in law was in the hospital we had to remember to ask for John's room number.?ÿ Nobody has ever called him by that first name, ever, unless they were looking at a roster.

That is awkward. ?ÿKnow a family where grandpa is Marion Thomas (Tom) and his son is Thomas Craig (Craig) and his grandson is Thomas Weston (Weston).

Had a boss who was Ralph at work but was Gene at home and in his home community. ?ÿCall the house, ask for Ralph and the answering family member would yell, "Gene. ?ÿIt's for you."

My wife had an uncle whose name was J. C. ?ÿ That's it. His birth certificate actually said J.only?ÿ C. only.?ÿ

That's it. L (no period) ?ÿD (no period)

Another friend has the middle initial J (no period)
