JD, Scott,
thanks for the insight,
It's hard to compare surveying in your side of the world to the jobs we do daily. You can hardly find a square km here without a road. At first it didn't make sense to me that this snowy weather and freezing temps are actually good conditions for some of the jobs you do.
We don't see things as they are ...
... we see them as we are

Yeah, people can swim in the pond in the summer...usually its 2AM and there's alcohol involved, but I get in there from time to time 😉
I see you're from Oregon...in my mind that's where I want to retire...never been there, but the pictures I've seen look like it's the place to be.

2 am!!! It must be freezing then!! :-O
Oregon is great. No sales tax, can't pump your own gas, fresh air, water, lots of good food and lots of things to do. Beautiful here. My favorite place is Crater Lake. Not as warm as I'd like it (I like Arizona Desert warm) but hey it's also not as cold as I hate either. Come on over to our state sometime...we'll be glad to meet up with you and show you our gorgeous state. 🙂
Is that why you married a lady with tiny hands, to make it look bigger?
Winter is, for the most part, done around here, everything is turning green and flowers are popping everywhere.
