Some things just make you chuckle when there isn't really anything funny expected.

I am a member of a rather large group of Professional Engineers united on items related to professional development, ethics and similar ideals. Yesterday, the chairwoman of the main committee sent an e-mail to the entire group asking what we thought about putting a specific proposal to a vote of our membership. It was set up such that any reply went to all of us. So far about 25 have responded with all favoring a vote on the issue. The comments have varied from a full paragraph to something as simple as "yes". My favorite response to date is: "shoot the puck". That is not a phrase commonly heard in my neighborhood.

Don't get your udders all worked up. We all know 25 professional member email votes take about 600 back and forths to come to any kind of consensus decision. Even that is subject to additional scrutiny. 😉

Also the expression before the beginning of a game is "drop the puck". At any point during the game, the expression can be "shoot the puck" or "stop the puck", depending on which team is shooting (or not). Generally all the expressions will include a not to be posted here expletive of varying sentiment and/or vulgarity. :pissed:

And that's just hockey, and my avatar denotes that I am an expert...:-P

Wayne Gretzky is known to have said that he "missed 100% of the shots he didn't take". When in doubt shooting the puck is never a bad play. So rather than asking if you should do something just "shoot the puck".

See, all non hockey states do not fully understand the expression.

When on the offensive it's more like "just shoot the %$#@*'ing puck, will ya".

About every September, it's "just drop the %$#@*'ing puck, will ya"

Then again, what do folks from OR or KS know about hockey...;-) Still, I like the thought of Mr Cow's associate. My guess is he transplanted from Minnysoota, or above the 45th parallel, so he could watch some real football teams. And he's in the offensive zone, so that is a YES vote IMVHO.

Come on Roadie.... need some back up here..lol

The Red Wings?...yeah, they aren't bad at dumping the puck and chasing it... 😉
