Robert I'm spending the night in your neck of the woods. I'm at Mile 63 exit off Interstate 10. North side of the Interstate, Motel is Super 8 on the west side of Holiday Boulevard, Highway 190. I'm in room 126 the phone here is 892-0370. I'll be here tonight and will continue on to Biloxi tomorrow about or close to 11 AM, our sign in there starts at three in the afternoon.

My reunion at Kansas City was real good, no complaints from me. About 20 or so of us died off last year. Luckily I'm one of the youngest of the bunch, there might be 10 or so that came into the organization after I signed on in early January of 1960. The unit was closed down in the spring of 1965.

I left Kansas City yesterday a little after 2 in the morning, was at Fort Smith as the sun came up. Met with a school-playmate there. Was going to just say hi and shake hands and leave but the tales got bigger and bigger and finally after four hours telling lies I head south. Went through Texarkana and Shreveport spent the night at Natchitoches, left there this morning and made the mandatory stop at Poche's Market for lunch. Had my favorite a big plate of Crawfish Etouffee with rice, string beans and coleslaw. Naturally I had Sweeeeeeeet Iced Tea with lemon. Didn't think I would be able to finish off the serving but persisted, finished and left with a spare container of Iced Tea.

Saw a big Billboard Sign just east of Baton Rouge, it said "MURDER RATE IN BR IS HIGHER THAN IN CHICAGO". I hurried a little to get out of town.

Yeah, I'd think that driving through Louisiana would pretty much have to be more dangerous than flying a U-2 over other foreign countries.
