Just wanted to show off some more of our beautiful scenery around our county. Today we took a trip out to the Ritner Creek Covered Bridge for a family picnic. It was gorgeous outside! We encountered a special slithery "friend" too!! See Pics... 🙂

The Oregon sky and trees on a warm August day.

Wendell gets the credit for this pic.

Ritner Creek Bridge Sign.

We picnicked inside the bridge.

Few shots of Ritner Creek on both sides of the bridge.

The dog decided to take a dip in the creek.

But first...a drink!

Now time to cool off!

Crazy dog hates baths but loves to splash in the creek.

I forgot my purse on the picnic table so Wendell was kind enough to "carry" it for me.

As we left we encountered this slithery friend on the gravel road. He is much smaller than the picture depicts. Probably 2-3 feet long tops. I wanted to take him home and put him in my garden but no one would pick him up for me. 😛 Wendell said the rats would be "insulted". He's probably right.

I think the "carrying" picture would make a good avatar for Wendell.:-)

Noodles,

Do you mind if I borrow some of your pictures to do some drawings?

One of my favorite subjects is a covered bridge. I usually work in pencil or pen and ink.

I promise to send you a copy of the final drawing.

I'm sure she wouldn't mind. In fact, we could send you the originals which have much better resolution...

SJ, which originals do you want? I can send them to you in e-mail.

I am flattered, btw, that you'd want to use my pics and look forward to seeing the completed sketch. 🙂

1st, 2nd and 4th of the ones you posted.

I have been known to sit down a draw one that might be part of several of which I have seen pictures or it might be a complete fabrication. Who knows. When I get through, you might have to look hard to see the bridge of which you took a picture.

Thanks.

SJ
