I just read about his demise a few minutes ago.?ÿ He had quite a career.
?ÿ
There use to be an amusement park in OKC called Springlake Park that always had outdoor concerts in the warm months.?ÿ All sorts of musical acts played there but the park considered Motown music their staple.?ÿ In the late sixties a bunch of us were always keen on making it to the James Brown shows.?ÿ Little Richard opened for him at least once I remember, along with Otis Redding I think.?ÿ
Watching Little Richard was kind of like watching a Midway Freak Show.?ÿ There was no telling what he would wear or even what he would say or do.?ÿ In the '60s seeing someone with all that makeup was a thing in itself.?ÿ But his R&B Boogie-Woogie piano bangin' always had the crowd mesmerized and tapping toes.?ÿ?ÿ
Never had any of his discs but lots of good memories anyways.
