I have seen several PTO winches in the 50 years I've been offroading here in CO.?ÿ And most of them, as you say, were on older vehicles.?ÿ My comment was, perhaps too narrowly, pertaining to the vast majority of vehicles I see in the mountains today.
And I also agree that those late-1960's and early-1970's Warn winches really sucked.?ÿ We still have one on the 1966 CJ5 we have in the family.?ÿ There is quite the redneck under-hood/dash-mounted remote control solution on that unit....?ÿ All cable controls!
And, yes, I'm sure that M37 does the recovery job quite nicely!
