Not to worry. I've been through about a dozen end-of-the-world days since the late 60s as a kid. All they did was scare the hell out of us young'ns - nothing more.

Not sure your right Perry. My neighborhood is extremely quiet this morning. Usually have a dog or two barking but none to be found. And I have two cats that make their usual morning stroll out front that failed to show up this morning.
Maybe the date was right but the species was wrong. Maybe the supreme being is smarter than we thought.

I tend to think that says more about your world-view than anything. If you feel everyone in the world is corrupt and worthy of eternal damnation, then it can get very easy to only see things that validate that world-view. I don't subscribe to it myself.
Although, if you're right, then the entire world will end in five months... So I guess we'll find out soon enough.

Cats, maybe... To consider that they have completely domesticated humans to look after them and do absolutely nothing in return other than to lie around, be furry and purr.
Dogs? Every now and then my dog would get a very thoughtful look in his eye and then look deep into my eyes, begin to open his mouth, and just as you thought he might actually utter some sage and profound words in human language, he'd burp. Mmh, maybe dogs are actually smarter and more worthy than us also.

When I play guitar, and hit a sour note, my dog will cast a critical sidewards glance towards me, which speaks volumes. I try to avoid that look. If I play well, she will offer a long sigh and go back to sleep.
