With a little thinking about what was going through the cat's mind, the holdup probably would have been only an hour or less with no disassembly needed. All they needed to do, was to back off and give the cat time to settle down and come out on it's own. A little calm coaxing from it's owner would have gotten it back in the carrier much sooner.

Put it's favorite treat out and one in the carrier and get everyone out of there.

Of course the cat immediately ran from Coach to First Class. Wouldn't expect any less from a cat.
