Wendell,
Does creating a youtube video on this site effect your bandwidth in a negative way?
Does the beerleg management have any feelings regarding the posting of these videos they would care to share?
Does the management have a preference between posting youtube videos on this site or creating a link to the youtube page where the video is located?
Would the management consider creating a thread explaning the prefered process to the ignorant?
(I keep trying to create a video in a thread, but I cannot seem to remember how it is done, so I am of the ignorant.)
Thanks,
#6
Dan......
fwiw, I posted a link to a youtube video here yesterday. The site wouldn't let me use the embed c&p from youtube like you could at the old site. I got an error message saying the 'word' was too long.
Take care,
Ed
Dan......
I had posted a video, directly to a thread on Thursday or Friday, but I could not do it Saturday or since.
It was being tweaked, as far as I know, so maybe the steps I used have been changed.
Dear #6,
We appreciate the thoughtfulness of your post. Below, please find our responses to your points:
> Does creating a youtube video on this site effect your bandwidth in a negative way?
Not any more than any other post. Embedding a video actually means that the video is streamed from the linked site. So if you embed a YouTube video, it is YouTube's bandwidth you are using.
> Does the beerleg management have any feelings regarding the posting of these videos they would care to share?
Yes. We ask that the videos not contain nudity, pornography, graphic violence or other potentially offensive material. Please view our Terms of Use.
> Does the management have a preference between posting youtube videos on this site or creating a link to the youtube page where the video is located?
No. Either method is fine. The easier of the two is to simply paste the URL in your message and the forum will automatically create a hyperlink.
> Would the management consider creating a thread explaning the prefered process to the ignorant?
Yes. We will likely add it to the FAQ page in the very near future.
Thank you, #6, for your inquiry and we hope you thoroughly enjoy BeerLeg.com.
Sincerely,

I have not had any trouble, but I've only posted a couple videos. If that happens again, please link me to the video you are trying to post (possibly using the contact form to ensure I get it) so I can investigate.
Thanks! 🙂
Here's how to do it step by step:
1. get the embed code (not the simple URL which won't work) from youtube.
2. in a new message push the flash button at right
3. paste the embed code into the upper box of the dialog (the lower one doesn't seem to work).
4. push the insert flash button at the bottom.
This puts the proper code into the message body.
Yes, that is what I was trying to do again, but I could not get it to work.
I tried again today and it worked, so...., I don't know.
PS., it takes three taps on the tab button to get to the post message button after finishing your text.
Complete text.
Tab, tab, tab.
enter.
I didn't see any specific instructions on how to do it so I had to trial and error until I found the method that works.
I didn't think about the tab thing.
Hint-that's something you can teach to kids; they are amazed "you just tab through the boxes?" heh heh heh
