I ran across this on Facebook a little while ago. It it's true, it could be great news for surveyors.
The article on seeker.com has a link to the original article about the research in the Lancet medical journal. Unfortunately, the Lancet article doesn't say anything like what the Seeker article says. Here's the Lancet link: http://www.thelancet.com/journals/laninf/article/PIIS1473-3099(16)30529-1/fulltext
Allowing for the dense medical terminology, which I could easily be misinterpreting, the Lancet article seems to say that the antibiotic cream might be useful in preventing erythema migrans (the bulls-eye rash), but that more research is needed. There was no indication that the antibiotic cream prevented seroconversion (the appearance of Lyme disease antibodies in the blood). The same number of patients developed one or both of these symptoms in the antibiotic-cream group and the placebo-cream group.
