How many on here have used one? What are your recommendations? Does it fit different shapes of level rods?
Thanks,
Phillip
Phillip, I know that they fit different rods and they look interesting if for no other reason than it keeps your rod out of poo, but I have never had one. No place I worked cared if we had to handle a rod that had been in poo. They just knew how much a pipe mic cost and that they did not have to handle a rod that had been in poo.+o(
Well, then you have to handle a pipe mic that's been in poo ...
When I have a topo that requires inverts, I go to Home Depot or Lowes, buy a 12' long piece of thin trim for ~$5, mark it in even feet with a felt tip. Just stick it in, measure from the rim down to the even foot marks with a box tape, repeat ... throw it away when you're done....
Of course, this is Florida, so 12' pretty much covers about 99% of manholes ...
Never thought of that. I just made the rodman hold the rod and clean it afterwards.
Maybe that is why nobody wanted to be on my crews.;-)

I was in Lowe's the other day I and I think a piece of crappy 1/2" PVC pipe was about $2. That is even cheaper. Could do about the same. Good idea though.
