Well in the sixties we called them water pipes. That's Sister Mary Bogart, my favorite teacher's assistant at Our Lady of Perpetual Guilt High School. She was also the boy's PE teacher. I heard later she left the cloth for a successful career on the coast in the adult film industry. 😉

Ahh yes....now that I zoomed in this particular device I do recall. I believe this also to be known as a Turkish water Pipe.
Ok....now I know.
