Our local Sunday Sports Section had lots fo coverage for local wrestling, some basketball and put Cam Newton on page 10, yawn.
BTW the internet photo of Cam accepting the trophy shows a fine solid handsome face. Kind of reminds me of O J Simpson.

I think the voters should have not voted for him at all even if he didn't do anything wrong. All that says is you are awarded for condoning violating NCAA rules. It has nothing to do with honor anymore. Joke of an award now. I hope Oregon trashes them.

hehehehehe. he is guilty too!
Just as you say, they should not, and in fact did not, vote for someone involved in pay to play.
Newton has been vetted extensively by the NCAA, Auburn University, and the Heisman committee. While I will willingly concede anything Auburn says is biased and should be dismissed, the last thing the other two wanted was someone with something to hide. He passed with flying colors for both of them.
Now if he just ends up in a Saints or Falcons uniform, life would be great.
$cam's daddy tells one school "it aint gonna be free this time"......I say Daltrey for Heisman.

Me too!!
Based on my I have seen in college football these past 40+ years I am more aligned with the following opinion piece.

That's pretty cool that UF had two Heisman winning QBs on their roster at the same time. Meyer knew how to spot talent. It would have been nice for Cam to stay at UF, but I wouldn't trade 1 season of Cam at starter for all the problems the Newton family has caused ...
