PBS&J, one of the larger US engineering firms (I used to work there) is no longer. Today is the first day of their new life as Atkins Engineering who bought them out. Atkins is an engineering firm out of Great Britain. PBS&J bought the firm for whom I worked in 2003. I made it another 5 years but didn't like the "corporate" mentality. I guess it remains to be seen whether it gets better or worse.

i worked for an international engineering outfit for a couple of years and a regional engineering outfit for several more. it is all about the dollar at those places. politics and popularity contests are the norm.

after working on my own for about 10 years now i am ruined to it. i could never go back unless the future of my family was dependent upon it. it's enough to break a mans will.

WOW! That is big news - at least for 'round these parts.
Has anything happened to Long Engineering or Lowe Engineering?
If not, I'd expect they'd go next.
