I'm going through my surveying book collection and reminded myself of these two gems. Still trying to decide whether or not to get rid of them. The Scientific American book is dated 1918 and the Railroad book is dated 1931. Pretty cool to look at.

Nice books Wendell.

I have picked up a few old books over the years. Hopefully one of these days I will be able to slow down to really read them and study them.

Even with all of today's fancy electronic survey gadgets, you cannot replace the knowledge that it takes to make sure that you are getting the right answers.

Happy Thanksgiving, and thank you for providing us with this site.

Decide to get rid of them. This would make a nice gift for my wife for Christmas. Being a school teacher she has her collections of neat things like those.

I just got a kindle a couple of weeks ago and was able to load a couple of old survey books I found for free on google books. It isn't near as cool as my hardcopy books to browse through but the price was right. Any pdf can be loaded but if there is a password you have to load it every time you turn it on which is a headache.
