I was asked to quote a survey to "MAI FIRREA" standards, i have not ran into this before. What is it?

It's an appraisal that has to be done by someone that is a licensed MIA.

MAI = Member of Appraisal Institute (Realtors)

Also, who wrote the request(or more specifically where are they from)? In "British English" what we call a Real Estate Appraiser is known as a "Valuation Surveyor".

I went around in circles a few years ago on a property in D.C. that was being financed by RBS (The Royal Bank of Scotland) over the role of a "surveyor" in real estate transactions on this side of the pond.
