My wife found this last night tucked away in a closet. Her dad had bought this several years ago. White gloves were also in the box. On the other side of the barrel there are several cars etched and lined up and towards the end of the barrel was the #43.
Too cool, can I come shoot it with you?
Wendell would like that as he is a big NASCAR fan!! Go Mark Martin!! :good:
You guys should start a Beer Leg Nascar Club. (or somethin like that.) I bet a bunch of you surveyors are also NASCAR fans. 😉
Angel,
I grew up in Daytona Beach and at the ripe old age of 8 attended the last beach race in 1958 and the first race at Daytona International Speedway in 1959.(It's being repaved as we speak) Richard Petty’s father, Lee won that race. I don’t think Mark Martin was even born yet! My wife’s mother used to hang around with a woman named Judy Judge who, at the time, was “Fireball” Roberts girlfriend. Aha those were the days.
Just, are you going to keep that gun, or sell it?
YUP!! See we need a NASCAR Beer Leg Club (or something like that.) :car:
Maybe I'll start one up tonight. Too tired right now and going to bed. My shift is over for now. *yawns*
I see it is an Uberti pistol. That may be a "Cowboy Action Pistol" which although brand-new, is intended ONLY for blackpowder cartriges. Don't even think of putting a full powerhouse .45 Long Colt round in the piece. You'll lose a hand at the least. It will probably retain its value if never fired.
We're going to keep it for now. Cabelas has it listed for $2299. Other sites as low as $1395. Not to be morbid but I think the real value will come about when Richard Petty passes. He was a great driver and has certainly earned his name in history. This might be a nice addition to the grand daughters college fund.
Cabela's is way overpriced on used guns.
I think that is a good idea. It will only increase in value.
Don’t shoot it; Cliff (below) is correct.
Have a great weekend!
I had one of those with #24 on it. The barrel pointed back towards the grip. 😛
