Close call this evening here in Norman. It waited 'til it was east of the house before it dropped a funnel.

About an hour earlier a large tornado hit the north side of OKC in the Edmond area and points east.

I hope it all was just property damage.

This house was in Carney, Ok.

There's something about living in " 'Nader Alley " that keeps May and June exciting...:bored:

Those power lines went down Sat. night with straight line winds. About a mile worth around the busiest intersection in the city. Here are some pics that one of my FB friends posted.

Here is one taken Sunday night from the Firelake

Time to grab your lawn chair & cooler

and climb up on the roof to get a good view of the events that are ahappenin'. Typical funnight in Tornado Alley. Be sure you take your weather radio, laptop and other vital electronic gear that will alert you as to which is the best direction to focus your attention to witness the destruction. Be sure you have plenty of beer. Climbing down to make a quick trip to the QuickTrip could result in missing the most impressive display of the evening.

It was so incredibly dark here last night that a torenaidee could have swept me off the roof before I saw it coming. You know how they all say it will sound like a train coming. Well, I live one-quarter mile from the Union Pacific mainline. We have to look to the northeast real quick to see if there's a headlight coming down the track. So far, there's always been one.
