Ok, I've narrowed my choices down to:
Blazing Saddles (1974)
https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Blazing_Saddles
Seven Days in May (1964)
https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Seven_Days_in_May
OR:
Them! (1954)
https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Them!
OR:
The Spider Woman (1944)
https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/The_Spider_Woman
OR:
The Thin Man (1934)
https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/The_Thin_Man_(film)
All classics, but all DIFFERENT. :hmm: ?ÿ
Edit: I forgot Blazing Saddles...
?ÿ
The Thin Man starring William Powell and Myrna Loy is by far the best of those.
It seems to me these times call for a showing of the Marx Brothers classic ??Duck Soup.?
One of my favorites as well. I have all of the Thin Man movies on DVD, always good for a laugh or two.
😎
Good Movies, I feel like watching Bridge over River Kwai or Papillon.

How bout Escape from Alcatraz (1979)
And the winner is;
?ÿ
Seven Days in May (it had the most dust on it).
😆
Cherry 2000 (1988)

Given our apocalyptic times, I was re-viewing some relevant ??classics? like ??A Boy and His Dog?, ??Omega Man? and ??Dawn of the Dead? the latter in both original and remake.
?ÿI find that I have been more of a recorder than viewer of movies on the TCM station. Now sheltered in place I am working through my recordings. Lots of good stuff including ??Paths of Glory? and ??Lonely are the Brave? my favorite Kurt Douglas films. They also have a lot of good Japanese films including the ??Lone Wolf and Cub? series of films on last night.
Lord knows I don??t want to spend too much time thinking...
Apocalyptic films are even older than us geezers, (which is kinda scary in and of itself), although the last few decades seem to be the "golden age" of such fare.
I visited the grocery store today (my first venture out in 10 days), low and behold...there was TOILET PAPER (which I haven't seen on the shelf for at least a month. I take that as a good sign (but I'm an optimist).

You guys sure aren't cheering up yourselves or me with your selections.

Shucks Bill, I'm planning on watching Them! tonight, it has a (more or less) happy ending.
😉

Well, I do have the Lord of the Rings and Hobbit series (among others), but that requires more of a time commitment than I want to make.
😐
@loyal a lot of snacks and beverages snacks and beverages too :silly: but do you really have to schedule anymore. I've got a long list of things to do but not on any schedule.
Re-watching movies and re-reading books holds little interest to me.?ÿ Every minute I will start telling myself, "This is right before the such and such happens."?ÿ Drives me nuts.?ÿ Heck, I can be watching an episode of The Andy Griffith Show from about 1963 and do the same thing.?ÿ The other night I was watching an episode of The Twilight Zone from sixty years ago and had the same problem.
Don't ask me what I had for breakfast yesterday.?ÿ I don't know.
An exception to the rule is some sporting event that I watched at the time but didn't really care too much one way or the other as to who won.?ÿ They were running a Super Bowl game a couple of days ago between Green Bay and Pittsburgh from some year I don't remember.?ÿ I had no idea who won the game so I could sort of get into watching it.
I've been wanting to watch African Queen again for a while so that would be my suggestion.

I have that on DVD, but haven't watched it in a while. Good movie for sure.

Cosmic Monsters a.k.a. The Strange World of Planet X (English 1958) with Forrest Tucker
I've been to Keg Parties with a bigger budget than this stinker!
If I shelter in place much longer, I'm going to lose it.

Watching (OK... trying to watch) Frankenstein Meets the Spacemonster (1965).
Starring Marilyn Hanold (Playmate of the Month, June 1959).
I don't think there is much chance of this one making it into the National Film Registry!?ÿ
I need to get into my Hazmat suit and make a run to Wally World for some new DVDs (and printer paper/ink).
