That "still" looks eerily similar to a piece of equipment we had in the asphalt lab back in the eighties. The same folks that made the sieve screens (Reinhardt?) made the distillery.
Back then we use to wash our asphalt samples with trichloroethylene. It was expensive and against ever law known to mankind to throw it away or dump it ANYWHERE.
We purchased one of these distillery units to reclaim the spent trichlor that was black with the AC. It really worked pretty good, but gave off horribly carcinogenic and flammable fumes. No one could go near it! And the cooking unit was the sheets to clean.
We used it a few times and it wound up in the back room. No doubt to find its way eventually to ebay.
