Surveyors. They are often improvising, modifying, and remaking their worlds. I am no exception. This is my first try at this. We took a 20 QT commercial mixing bowl, cut holes into it, and installed it in an old cabinet. This is for washing baby, and all that sort of thing. It makes into a mini bathtub, just right for baby, and that makes it hard for baby to get water in his/her nose. Next go at it may be a stainless steel one, but for now, this is one of the older tinned ones, that wife painted with rust oleum paint, because she wanted it to be white.
"leave well enough alone" does not seem to work for me!
Nate,
You gotta post us all a "soapy baby" pic when you get one!
I did not think of that.... OK!
🙂
Looks good except for the lack of a levee around the outside of that cabinet top. Going to need one. I probably would have gone with a hose with a hand valve from the water valves to the sink, keeping the faucet away from the tub.

I threw it together. . in a hurry.
I think I want hospital valve in it. So I can step on a foot peddle and get warm water.

My project this weekend is pull-out drawers for the base cabinet where we keep the pots and pans.
You can build just about anything with a good table saw (at least 24" rip capacity), a drill/driver and a brad gun. I have some other power tools but those are essential. I use my compound miter saw a lot to mostly for square cross-cuts; it's handy to not have to disturb the settings on the table saw when you just need something cut off.
Quick! Wet your finger and smooth out that silicone before it dries like that.
My project is to straighten the mowing deck on my mower so all of the blades are running at the same height, Picked up a 2 X 4 last year that did the damage. Thought All that was needed was to bring the blade back to the right shape and sharpen and rebalance them while they were out. Other than needing sharpening the blades are fine. Plan on holding the deck up with an engine hoist then using a hammer with backing on the deck to put things back where it needs to be. Mow 3 acres around the house, shop and old barn, used to do it with a push mower and weed wacker, took about 5 days but usually only needed to be done once. Mow it to keep the rabbit brush in check and a way to reduce fuel in case of a fire.

Craigslist can be a great resource for a whole new mower, with a new deck etc, so that the job becomes easier.
We got a nice 30+ yr old hobart mixer, for $300, off of Craigslist. The gears are noisy. It came with 2 mixing bowls. One of them is Stainless steel. (YAY!) and we now use that one to make bread. Then, we took the old one, and cobbled it into a bathroom sink.
I shop like an hillbilly. Sit on a itty bitty pile of cash, and then buy the things we need, when the price is right!
