I was back at a commercial site today, the one where I couldn't figure out what they do, and it turns out they are a call center. I was just setting up in the afternoon in one of the drive lanes to get the building corners with reflectorless, when the crowd let out to go home. Talk about a traffic jam. I gave up.
Across the alley was a garage with not one but two (two, mind you) BD-5J Microjets. One under construction, one built and painted. Neato. I remember shortly after WWII when Donald Duck built a small jet just like it for himself, in a comic book. Never thought I'd actually see one.
A local veterinarian built one many years ago. Neither he, nor anyone else, ever flew it. The vet is in his late 90's now and I'm wondering what ever happened to it.
