Doing as well as can be expected. Began a barrage of chemo treatments and seems to be maintaining high spirits. You know Larry...

The following was posted on FB two days ago:

Good Evening.

Larry and I, along with a few of our close friends, have established a website/blog that will be utilized for "Updates on Larry" from this point going forward. Please feel free to leave your positive thoughts, well wishes and any personal notes you would like to share with Larry and Allison. We appreciate everyone's concern and support more than you could ever imagine. Larry still enjoys the cards received by the US Postal Service, so please keep those coming. The card messages are always right on time and they lift his spirits so much! Thank you!

The blog link is: http://teamlarryp.weebly.com

If you have problems accessing the site, you may message us here.

Thank you and may God richly bless you and your families each and every day.

Sincerely,

Larry and Allison

Larry Phipps

Hang in there, @Larry P!! We're still praying!!

JBS

Thanks JB.
So it turned out cancerous?
Or is this more of a prophylactic effort just to be sure.
Do you happen to know where's going for chemo?
Just curious really. At my first surveying gig, they pulled me off the crew to do a traffic study for a big hospital about 2 hours south from where he lives.
Being about the only "major" hospital in the western NC area, they had a rather substantial oncology department.

Thanks for the update none the less.
E.

Eric take a few minutes of your time to read the blog that is linked.
It will answer your concerns and questions.

Get well Mr. (Larry) Phipps

All I really know is taken from the website they've set up along with a few private communications. Larry has glioblastoma, an aggressive, malignant brain cancer. We can hope that the surgeons caught it in time to reverse the course. The following is from the website:

After a successful surgery, recovery from the surgery has been great. Larry no longer has trouble communicating and has maintained his dry sense of humor. Those jokes are still bad... 🙂
Larry is scheduled to receive the standard chemotherapy and radiation treatments, a six-week process. He is also participating in a clinical trial where the Duke Research team is attempting to make a vaccine to boost his immune system in fighting the cancer.
While recovering, Larry can be found tuned into an Atlanta Braves game or enjoying some type of sports channel, resting, and traveling to Duke for treatments. He and Allison are cherishing their time together, making the most of every day. They covet your thoughts, prayers, and support as they are facing this life challenge head on.

Go @Larry P and Go Duke!!

Thanks again JB. I did go through the site and did send a message.
I read everything and can vouch, in person, for every word said. He is the "real deal".
