if Keith is going to continue to take up most of the available space and bandwidth, he needs to buy a round for the house.

When I made a donation,I was a little confused on the amount.
It ended up being the yearly subscription rate of the most costly mag/no discount that I receive at home which is twice the amount of the few other mags that we receive here.
So I based the cost to receiving a mag that I receive 4 times a year in print with endless daily email news and other info. I know that may be not the most generous criteria of others but it is ine that I thought other users may 'subscribe' to use.
I may be getting a new subscription rate to a costlier mag soon which is twice the amount of the current but that is an out of country mag. so if Wendell and Noodles move to Tahiti, I may raise my donation. 😉
So if posters/readership here can equate it to a subscription fee, we can all help the site.
as an example, you can get a discounted (39%) yearly subscription to Fine Woodworking for $35 and receive 4 issues a year and I imagine endless email article. This is just a little less the cost of the mag tat I receive.
I hope that Wendell will be successful in marketing this board.

Me too and that's how it's going to stay. Mom and Pop type forever. Even if we all of a sudden hit the lotto and won zillions, or even if we wind up dirt poor, it will still stay how it is and I will still make sure everyone gets hand written notes and our personal touch on ANYTHING we do. Oh and visits from us when we're close to your town (if you want us that is!!!). 😉

I have never looked at the list of contributors.....it's not my business. I'm glad that there are those who have been generous....but there are other ways to be generous too.
While we may not agree with everything we read on here, every thread adds something to our knowledge, or at least makes us think a little bit about the topic.
So long as contributing money to this site is "voluntary", then no one has the right to call out another with regard to how much they paid (or didn't pay).
When it becomes a "subscription site" (not that I expect it will....), then the proprietors can deal with it themselves.
