I got tongue-tied in the middle of Physics class in high school, when called on by surprise, and couldn't correctly pronounce "function" after several tries. The laughter didn't help one bit.

I remember when I was in 5th grade, we were lined up in front of the class for a spelling bee. My best friend got the word sheet, and without hesitation he blurted out S-H-I-T. He immediately knew what he said and ran back to his seat. Mrs. Hackett nearly fell out of her chair laughing. She never let him forget it.
