My wife is a loving grandmother and took on a new task till the end of the school year.
She has been babysitting our daughter's newest, 7 month old Elijah. My daughter is working part time with 2 different special education students. My grandaughter 7 year old Chloe is full time in first grade. Elijah comes about 9:30 on days my daughter works, may go home after lunch and comes back in the afternoon on some days. This week my daughter is full time in some continuing ed classes, so Elijah has been showing up about 7:45.
As of this past Monday my daughter in law's family leave ran out, so 5 month old Nathan Paul shows up at 6:45, before my daughter in law heads out to teach school. My grandaughter 5 year old Anna is full time in preschool.
Our living room is chock full of duplicate baby occupiers. We have a pack-n-play in one bedroom and a crib in another. My wife has borrowed a double stroller, and yesterday wheeled both boys to grade school to walk Chloe back to out house.
I had Monday off except for a schedule aftnernoon meeting, so Grandma had some assistance, from Tuesday on I have had to go to the field. Pop-Pop is having a very hard time walking out the door and leaving those loving bundles behind.
After a summer off, my daughter in law is taking a sabbatical next year but I see some Master's classes in there. At only a few months age these two are well aware of each other and already in competition. One should be crawling all over next week, and grandma has yet to call for reinforcements.
That the grandaughters were 2 years apart made helping out easier back then.
Pop-Pop is very cautious about asking "So how was your day?" when he gets back home.

:good: You're a good one, Pop-pop.
Just don't tell anyone I said so.

I was asked recently if I was ignoring my daughter in law.
NO, I am busy playing with my grand children.
