I was brought up proper. So I know that, in conversation, you should always interrupt the other person halfway through their sentence. It is how you show you're really interested.

Or almost even better is answer their sentence as if it was a question, with another question that is totally unrelated to their boring topic. Then keep answering in questions until something is interesting.
...but I guess that isn't 'humor' is it, just human nature.
I was watching Jeopardy last night and got the final question, but I had to phrase it as a real question as I could not remember Richmond was the capital of Virginia, so my answer: What is the capital of Virginia? Nobody got the answer right on the show, so I would have gotten one right if the judges accepted the lame response.
The observance of human nature is humorous.:-D
