All of a sudden today, for no apparent reason (to me at least so far...) Internet Explorer has started showing these "ad search bar" things at the bottom and right side of my screen.
They are acting like pop ups that are not pop ups...clear as mud?
They are showing up on a local county government GIS website where they never have before.
I want them to go away and never come back again.
Any ideas?

Firefox (or derivative thereof) with adblock ad-don works well for such annoyances.
I had been using firefox and chrome for a while and just switched back to IE.
Aint nuthin easy right?

I think this is some sort of virus related to something called "Topic Torch".

It was a virus. Here is the solution:
Go into uninstall programs and find "Yontoo" and uninstall. That should do it.
