When your job site looks like this, there isn't a lot of places to pile the snow. Except on the islands where my control is 🙁
Better enjoy those 42 to 56 degree temps you have out that way right now. Meanwhile it is 8 here with a windchill of -9 and we are almost the warmest place in the entire state. Your clients should understand why you simply cannot perform in the situation that is going to occur there based on your forecast. My clients just think I'm a wuss if I'm not getting their job done promptly.

My clients are government agencies; you can't expect them to think rationally.
Every gov't contract that I participated had an "uncontrollable conditions" line rate and hours to expect the unexpected weather/whatever. It was be anywhere from 5-10% of hours billable
You need to negotiate this into your contracts. 😉
I'm surprised you didn't move to BC.......
I flew in to Seattle for the first time; August 1990. I looked down and thought: Oh my God, look at all that water! There must be a Jillion bugs. I slumped back into my seat and cringed; what have I gotten myself into....
I had spent most of the last 15 years, surveying in Nebraska. I had endured the coldest winter and hottest summer of record there and felt it was time for a change. We had plenty of bugs in Nebraska and wasn't looking forward to being hammered by them again...
The first thing I noticed was the seemingly HUGE lack of bugs! Very few windows had screens; it was hard to find bug repelent; and you didn't have to jerk and slap yourself because of pesky bugs all day. I hate bugs.
It started getting cold, so I started wearing warm clothes; I'd sweat my ___ off everyday. It was very rare to see the temp drop to below 25° and it always warmed up to above freezing, most of the time. In Nebraska, the ground froze up in October and didn't thaw till April.
I could go on and on; the best climate is a temperate climate. We have 2 weeks worth of Winter and 2 weeks worth of Summer and the rest of the time it's Spring or Fall. But it's a secret, so don't tell anybody....:snarky: 😉
Isn't "Global Warming" wonderful?:-P
