And here's another scary situation:?ÿ At the time of the autopsy the ME did not have my son's SSN.?ÿ It's listed as 999-99-9999 on his death certificate.?ÿ Insurance company won't process the claim without a valid SSN on the death certificate.?ÿ Vital records will only amend a death certificate if I can supply a government document with his SSN (card or tax return).?ÿ I don't have either.
His employer should have a scan of his SSN Card in their files. Maybe that would do?
Sorry to read you're still dealing with this.?ÿ Surprised the lawyers have been racking up sooooo many hours, it shouldn't take that much time to call or email... that sucks.?ÿ The people on the end of the phone are really Jenks for not taking a compassionate and empathetic tone.
?ÿ
FWIW I keep a sealed file with a few things for my accounts and all my passwords, it's the JIC file, Just in Case.?ÿ Been doing this since I lived alone and before and after I got married/divorced.
After I had to hit the ER a few years ago with anaphylaxis of idiopathic origin, I've fashioned a small card in my wallet as I sometimes have no one who knows me, it starts.."If found down or unconscious, " then there's a list for them to work to see if anyone exists or not that can claim me or knows anything about me.
I hope your saga with this wraps of soon, as it's taking up your living time dealing with people whom don't seem to care.
?ÿ
Continuing good fortune to you that you're done soon?ÿ
AZ Vital records wants an original.?ÿ I'm pretty much stuck waiting on the IRS.?ÿ
I have a shortcut to a word document now 12 pages long called passwords.
I do, too.?ÿ SWMBO, on the other hand, has them scribbled on random pages in a couple of little notebooks, and here 'n' there in her checkbook, with quite a few also on post-it notes.?ÿ "I don't trust that goddam computer, so I'm gonna write 'em down".
My girlfriend just had to deal with the same issues as executress of her mother's estate.?ÿ It took he almost 10 months to be able to pay off her mother's Discover card.?ÿ
That would be easy for my wife to handle in my case.?ÿ She has a credit card for which I am allowed as a user.?ÿ I have zero credit cards in my name.?ÿ Zero.?ÿ My credit score is not as high as it should be because I do not have a pound of credit cards in my pocket.
And then there was the guy whose wife had her credit card stolen, but he never reported it because the thief was spending less than is wife.
Had a buddy who liked to make that same claim, but always with his wife sitting at his side when he told the story.?ÿ I knew her well enough to know he was probably telling the truth.
BTW, he died of cancer at 64.?ÿ She has to pay her own bills now.?ÿ Shouldn't be difficult.?ÿ She has over a half million dollars worth of original Western paintings on the walls of the ranch house.?ÿ She just sold off some spare acreage for over $1.1 million.
