No Pension?
30 years with the MTA and no pension??????
That must be some story...........
It takes all kinds.
Last week we hired a guy to work on (unnamed, high-profile high-rise building). When he was asked to report to work at this site, he was told what he would be doing and where he would be doing it.
Went up in the lift, walked outside and turned around and told the PC "I'm afraid of heights".
😛 😛 😛 😛 😛 😛
You're so worried about this one guy, his future, his outlook on life, what he will think of you.
What about the rest of your team. They can see what's going on. They don't have the responsibility, but know what needs to be done. Is it fair to the rest of your employess to in effect tell them that they must work extra hard and be extra diligent without extra compensation to not only pick up the slack of this one guy, but to mitigate the damage he is doing to the productivity and quality on your jobs?
It's Monday...
Well????????
It's Monday...
Scott works at a VERY BUSY site... I think we all know where. I doubt he has internet access during the day. Or he might have had to deal with HR all day. Give him until after dinner EDT to say something.
The health issue is important.
I had a part time person who was diabetic.
It posed a very serious risk to him.
I realized that if something happened in the field , I was going to be struck with a major liability issue.
Something almost happened one day when we were in the woods and he did not notify me of the occurrence. That was it a far as I was concerned after we had a intense head to head about it.
Years ago when I manged crews for a number of years for larger companies, my big no-nos for getting terminated were being high or loaded on the job or theft.
Like you, I felt that I could handle the other BS to keep a person's act together.
The company eventually had me 'suspend' a worker once for a major off time screw up with a company Suburban.

Well, I hate to break it to you, but after dinner EDT was when you were posting. I think you meant after supper EDT. That makes more sense to us nearer the equator.
:good: 🙂
