Some more Belgian holiday pics from the past weeks.
At Oostende we went to visit a medieval spectacle.

There were people from all over europe and they had the time of their lives.

The knights preparing for battle

and some more people at the archery contest.

Another highlight of our holliday is the yearly Dranouter folkfestival, well it used to be a folkfestival but this year they dropped the 'folk' in it's name. A lot of rock but still some good folk music from all around the world.
Dranouter is near the border with France and is rather hilly with some nice landscapes.
Most people camp in the meadows around the festival site.

In the morning we take breakfast at the local school

And then a walk to the festival site ...

Besides the music there is a lot of animation

some typical festival images ...

A view of the Irish Pub where they sell the refreshing Irish cider!

There were about 100.000 people spread over 4 days and about 70 shows on 4 stages.

some of the bands or artists that performed :
Vaya Con Dios (Belgium)
Paolo conte (Italy)
Tom Mc Rae (UK)
Harper Simon (USA) yes, son of his father Paul
Electric Celi (Ireland) and one of my favorites
Rob Sawyer Band (Australia)
and
Los de Abajo (Mexico)

We reached the end of our holidays and we start again with surveying on Tuesday in Oostende with the construction of an underground high voltage line of about 9 km. We will be present at each cable pull, each one of about 1 km, it's a job spread over 4 months.

Tres cool, Christ.

We have "renaissance fairs" here too, but for some reason they look slightly out of place with Texas as their backdrop.
