Any news on if/when they're going to open the Morganza spillway?

Not of this morning, but they are saying they will make the call soon. The Mayor of Baton Rouge is crying for them to open it up, a disaster is pending if they don't. New Orleans is holding steady now that the Bonnet Carrie spillway was opened, but there is still a ^#(% load of water in the river.

Opening the Morganza Spillway is predicated on so-many million cubic feet of water (per second) passing the Old River Control Structure. That volume of water is expected to increase to the "trigger" amount during this coming weekend.

Found this picture of of one of the depth gauges in the forebay

Growing up I used to hunt just across the river from the Old River Control Structure in Ft Adams.

My house is at an elevation of 9. If the spillway is open 3 miles from my house the water is scheluded to be at 19' but there is a levee between with an elevation of 25.
