Yeah, it came from your yahoo account. It went to my harntech email. It might be embedded in your email somewhere. Try to run malwarebytes and see if it picks anything up.
I got 4 gmail spams from US posters and it has now hit gmail a/c which I do not use with visible russian text added across top.
Seems they have gotten into gmail and yahoo.
When I just went into gmail it took its time so obviously had come across with a waiting email.
RADU
I had two in my inbox this morning. One Claiming to be from Richard and one claiming to be from Phillip Reed.

Sorry Richard.
I'll run anti-spyware this morning. That is unless somebody tells me something different to run.
I just signed with MAILER-DAEMON responding to several old addresses in my address book that were undeliverable. Apparently, at 7:20 this morning, while I was not logged on, everyone in mt address book was sent a link to
"http://www.vitalitychc.com/images/amw.php"
Pretty embarrassing. The emails do not show up in my sent folder. I am not on Facebook and I don't use Chrome. I'm running AOL and I am very careful about opening emails. I'm not sure what I picked up and AVG has not found anything.
Gary
Seems like you all are being hammered out there.
I've gotten several from others out there over the last week.
2 or 3 from Deral, 2 or 3 from a former rpls guy I used to know who I know has nothing to do with surveying anymore and a couple from someone I don't remember at all.
Sounds like we all need to do a deep scan. I'm fixing to do that now.
Yeah, same here. It seems to be trying to send out crap from my yahoo account. Luckily, the only place I use it is on the POB board which I have not accessed in 6 months or so.I just changed the password.
I don't think there's much you can do about it, because I think they are hack into Yahoo. Also, they are not sending it from your Yahoo account, they are spoofing your address.
I found in my "recently deleted" folder that whomever hijacked my email address, deleted all of the sent emails. I restored them from AOL's server and there were 44 sent with 5-10 recipients per email.
I just finished sending out an apology to all of the recipients, changing passwords, etc. Someone definitely got my password and logged into my account. I am pretty sure it was done from the Marriott Hotel in Richmond. I was there for a couple of nights and just got back last night. I had my laptop, but used the cord to connect to the internet, not the Wi-Fi.
Someone must hacked me through the Wi-Fi since it was still turned on.

I got one sent 11:30 last night US time from
Richard Abbot
with no subject and containing a link.
I recognize a couple surveyors in the list of addressees.
I got this on the old email address that I used on POB and when I corresponded with RADU and others, not the one I currently make most use of and registered on this site.
I'm pretty sure somebody's address list got harvested and they are sending this crap to all those addresses. The return address is probably not where it was actually sent from; they just fill that in as they wish.

I got mine.
This morning my junk folder had one entry. It was from: Richard Abbott (no subject). I did not open it to see what it said.
Not mere spoofing
If there's stuff in your sent mail folder, that's a definite sign your account was hacked, as opposed to merely being spoofed.
Sounds like someone has
either connected an older PC with an old virus that was running around a many years back or that someone has recently caught that old virus.
I don't remember the PC virus name, but it would harvest e-mail addresses from a persons e-mail account then use those addresses as 'fake' from addresses sending out e-mails to any other e-mail addresses it had gotten from that account or others.
The end result is that it appears as if joesmith@website.net has sent e-mails to everyone. When in reality it could be that joe smith was in the contacts of someone else and that other person had a virus on their PC.
The part that really sucks is that someone with a secure PC (say joe smith) can appear to be the one with a virus. While the person who actually has a virus may have communicated with joe smith one time or even just added him as a contact and never e-mailed him.
My thoughts are that
Someone who has registered to this board but may not be a frequent inhabitant is ROFL reading about their April Fools Day joke.
Now I wont mention any names, but one person does pop up as the prime suspect.
I've been getting them from individuals from another site that I receive e-mails from, sometimes 2 or 3 a day from the same individual. Seems that most of these are from those that use Yahoo.
